Troubles with Ubuntu 12.04. It cant just be me!
Never had such struggles before.
Ubuntu 12.04 was released a little while back. Being a long time user, I was eager to give the new version a spin, even though I have jumped over to OpenSUSE on a few systems. Much to my surprise, 12.04 is basically unusable for me. I have been trying to search for solutions, but to no avail. Is it just me?
Just to be clear, I have now done three clean installs of Ubuntu 12.04 on three separate systems, and these same issues occur.
Firstly, after booting up for the first time, I do a apt-get update && apt-get upgrade to get up-to-date with the latest patches. After a reboot, things start going down. Windows cant be manipulated or moved anymore, the launcher menu wont appear, The top menu bar stops responding. And I basically end up hitting ctrl+alt+t to open a new terminal window and do a sudo shutdown -r now.
I then tried switching to Gnome Shell, which is always one of first things I do, but woulndt you know it, the same thing happens there as well. I have no idea what is causing it and either I have been searching for the wrong terms, or I am the only one with these issues.
Is anyone else out there experiencing the same?
