That’s strange. I stored my contacts to the Google account (not locally) but never synced with Google. Meanwhile I sync to a Carddav account (OwnCloud) .
Nevertheless I always had these blurry images.
So for me it’s hard to imagine the blurry images have to do with the Google sync.

Today I installed the “HD Contacts” app. It’s not too comfortable, but at least I have crisp images now.

Thanks for the link! Will spread the word. This is a ridiculous issue that I feel is being hindered not by technical challenges but by ignorance.

I’m disappointed that Google is seemingly ignoring the issue though. That said, Android has way too Manu other advantages over iOS for me to convert at least. And while the contact images on iOS are clear, its only because the thumbnails are tiny. :)

This issue was raised to google almost three years ago. Instead of fixing Gmail they made Google+ and want you to sync contacts with it. They are trying hard to push G+ to users.

I think I should move back to Iphone where the world was much clear.
