I must admit I havent given the LCD developments much though. I completely agree with what you say regarding the AMOLED colors, but personally I prefer it that way. 

But I agree, the 16GB storage seems like an odd decision. Again, I wish HTC would just focus their effort on getting everything right with phone, instead of trying to satisfy everyone with a plethora of devices.

Makes everything look cartoonish. LCD technology has gotten much better lately in terms of producing deep blacks. They’ll never match AMOLED just due to the nature of the technology but the trade-off of producing more natural colors is worth it to me.

The screens also tend to have this blueish tint to them if they aren’t viewed head on. A friend of mine has the new RAZR and it’s even more pronounced than on my Galaxy S.

Ultimately though, I think the real deal breaker for me with the One S is the limited storage. It’s OK if they removed the Micro SD slot, but they should have bumped it up to 32GB onboard storage in that case. I would have been willing to pay a bit more for that.

I suppose we will have to wait for benchmark results of the two before we determine the performance difference. But again, why cant HTC focus on getting everything right with one phone instead of making several with various tradeoffs? 

Also, why do you prefer SLCD2 over AMOLED? Without having tried the SCLD2 myself, AMOLED gives a near-perfect representation of black.

The processor in the One S is just about on-par peformance-wise with the Tegra 3.

The compromises with the One S are the lower-res AMOLED screen and the 16 GB of storage. Those are pretty much the only factors that make it inferior to the One X. Otherwise, you’re getting near identical performance from the two phones.

I’m torn between the two simply because I feel that 4.3″ is a better fit for me, but I like that the One X comes with 32GB storage and the Super LCD2 screen. After using a Galaxy S for nearly 2 years I am looking to move away from AMOLED on my next phone.
